Zen Meditation, Kido, Retreats & Qi Gong

Zen meditation fosters ‘Just This’ energy.   Our 3 class training series allows you to experience  several forms of Zen meditation practice, including instruction on:  the Power of posture; Mindful breathing and concentration; and Energy movement with yoga stretches that help us let go.   The emphasis is on developing a deep sense of peace that you can take back into the rest of our lives, for the benefit of ALL beings.   Beginners and seasoned practitioners welcome! 

Kido Chanting sessions are a powerful hour of chanting, drumming and movement based in the Korean Zen Tradition.   Chanting is a valuable method for cultivating great concentration, allowing us to stay with our breath and ‘Just This’.   Kido Chanting sessions consist of 2- twenty minute chanting sessions separated by a short reading and dharma talk.  

Silent retreats offer an opportunity to disconnect from the business of life for a few hours and reconnect with ‘Just This’ awareness. Retreats consist of consecutive Qui Gong and Zen meditation (sitting, walking and Kido) sessions accompanied by a reading and dharma talk. All level of Zen practitioners welcome.

Qigong, pronounced “chi gong,” is an ancient movement practice developed in China.  It involves using exercises to optimize energy within the body, mind, and spirit with the goal of improving and maintaining health and well-being. Sessions focus on basic Qigong theory and stimulating the energy centers of our bodies.  We build energy with our breath and transfer the energy throughout our bodies using specific postures and movements.
